The Full Story
I’m an urban forest engagement practitioner based in Western Australia, working at the intersection of community, nature, and place. Over the past decade, I’ve contributed to a wide range of urban greening initiatives through roles in local government, not-for-profits, and grassroots organisations.
My journey began in community advocacy, where I became involved in local groups Vic Park Trees, Vic Park Urban Foresters, and the the Vic Park Collective. I spent six years on the Town of Victoria Park’s Urban Forest Working Group and co-led the development of the Town’s Community-Led Urban Forest Strategy—the first of its kind in Australia.

Since then, I’ve worked across local government to design and deliver street tree planting programs, lead events that connect people to place, and co-create engagement strategies that empower communities to shape their urban environments. I’ve also collaborated with organisations WA Loves Nature, TREENET, and Millennium Kids.

I hold a Master’s in Urban Forestry Leadership from the University of British Columbia and continue to learn from best-practice practitioners across Australia and internationally. My current focus includes community-led placemaking, disaster recovery, and long-term urban forest care. Through She Plants Cities, I’m working to grow cities where people and trees thrive together—through inclusive engagement, shared ownership, and grounded, practical action.

Some of these connections are with professional bodies that uphold high industry standards and provide access to the latest research, tools, and training.
